Once again, I’m grateful for the Crozet Gazette. A few stories from July’s issue:
- Green Olive Tree is moving – across the street.
- “We will be moving into space at Music Today. We realize this is not ideal, since it means you will have to park on the north side of 240 and cross the street to come into the store. There are several handicapped parking spaces close to the entrance. We are grateful that we can continue to be a part of the Crozet community.”
- Albemarle’s new schools (not in Crozet, but we all will benefit – even those without kids in schools)
- Piedmont Place sold, again.
- County Advances Public-Private Plan for Eastern Avenue Bridge – Lisa Martin has an extensive article on the possible plan for shifting alignment from the long-proposed and planned for Eastern Avenue away from the Cory Farm location. It’s worth your time to read the whole thing.
- My short opinion: Keep the alignment where it’s always been planned for, and find the money to build it. And build lots of non-single-family houses and the bridge
- I often come back to this exchange, from a CCAC meeting in March 2023:
- “In matters from public, neighbor from Westlake gets in front to presumably oppose Oak Bluff. Says they are going to do this development before Eastern Connector (me: build infrastructure)
- “I asked if he would support the development if the connector was put in in conjunction; “not necessarily, no.””
