Never quite know what you’re going to learn in CCAC meetings. I’m looking forward to learning more about Albemarle County’s County View (lots of information there; I find it challenging to navigate) and the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad’s possible new location off of Crozet Avenue.edit: link to the Crozet Gazette story.
I know this the tweets of these meetings over the years have proven remarkably useful. This meeting’s hashtag will be #CCAC0323

The following email comes from Engage Albemarle, who are doing incredible work seeking feedback and raising awareness of all sorts of Albemarle County projects, notably AC44.
PROJECT WATCH
AC44 (The Comprehensive Plan Update Project)
The Comprehensive Plan is used to guide decisions on public infrastructure and funding, plans, and programs, and review some development applications. We are updating the Plan because it is required by the state and it’s a way to respond to the changing needs of our community.
- We’d love to have more community members talking about the Comprehensive Plan Update. Consider hosting a community chat with your friends, neighbors, and networks. Visit the Community Chat Kit webpage to learn more and download the materials.
- Help us spread the word! Attached you’ll find a flyer to print and post in your community.
- Have you completed the most recent questionnaire? Tell us about your needs and priorities for the future.
Zoning Modernization Project
The Zoning Ordinance regulates how land is used, designed, and developed. This multi-year project will create modern, user-friendly regulations that align with the ongoing Comprehensive Plan update.
Fiscal Year 2024 Budget Development
County Executive Jeff Richardson presented the Recommended Budget and Capital Improvements Program to the Board of Supervisors last week. The combined capital and operating budget total $551.5 million dollars. This budget is balanced on a real property tax rate of 85.4 cents per $100 dollars assessed value and on a personal property tax rate of $3.42 per $100 dollars of valuation, the same rates as in Calendar Year 2022.
