A few takeaways from the CCAC meeting on 9 November 2022.
Apologies for the list format; wanted to get this published as it’s fresh, and my brain works better in list format for digesting and conveying this sort of information.
- Lots of Crozet Trails Crew people in attendance for the Crozet Trails update. Learn more, and get involved here!
- The CACs are getting two staff liaisons to help the CACs; having staff dedicated to the CACs will be great.
- Talk about the County having information libraries and dedicated places for sharing of information. (the County site is challenging at best to navigate; hopefully when the re-do it, they’ll keep the URLs that they’ve linked to over the years — link rot is damaging).
- Discussion about educating ourselves and community members about the timelines of things, things being developments, infrastructure, etc — many projects start five to ten years out, and people don’t pay attention until it’s close to immediately affecting their own back yards.
- Public member asked about the purpose of the CCAC. Learn about the Crozet acronyms here. Here is the CCAC Fact Sheet.
- Virtual meeting policy discussed and adopted; we will be able to have up to 3 all-virtual meetings.
- I think it would be best if we could have all hybrid meetings for all the CACs, but there just isn’t the staff or money for that.
- Might not be a December CCAC meeting as the mobile home park may need a public meeting.
- Montclair is in the appeal period, and may appeal. Learn more about Montclair tonight, 10 November at the CCA meeting.
- The Vue still haven’t planted any trees; apparently they are finally planning to do so this month.
- Lots of tweets about the Crozet Trails Crew.
- The Crozet Trails Crew, and Trails, are one of the best parts about Crozet, and they have done incredible work — pure volunteer work — to connect Crozet neighborhoods and people. The more work, help, and attention they get, the better.
- Take 30 minutes and watch Terri Miyamoto’s video – that link is to the video; pull up her presentation here to follow along.
- And then get involved … and maybe go drink a beer at Starr Hill, as they’re donating $1 to the Crozet Trails Crew for every Love you drink!
