Expanding Mobile Home Park, and a new Augusta Health sign

I get these emails from Albemarle County, I guess because I’m now on the CCAC and I’m glad I do — better to know know what’s happening in our community. Not every announcement is a “big” one, and often it’s the aggregate of the small ones that matter.

Every week, I skim them for Crozet-focused things. Two of note in the past two weeks:

(I’ve re-ordered the snippets I copy/pasted below; both files are at the bottom of the post; I encourage people to click through and read/learn/digest for yourselves)

  1. I want to know what is being proposed to destroy the quiet neighborhood of Liberty Hall. Our children play in our community Park thru the HOA & run freely in the streets of our 63 home subdivision. We want to keep our neighborhood quiet & our immediate access down to lickinghole creek. We don’t want the nature around our homes destroyed or the occasional visit by mama bears with their cubs. We di want nesting areas of local bald eagles destroyed. We don’t need to keep building. It destroys the safety of our children and causes noise levels that we don’t want in iur quiet safe neighborhood. It will cause our property values to drop with a major thoroughfare. This is not progress. Crozet was nevermeant to be built up. We live on a scenic byway that is not to be widened. All of Albemarle County is being overdeveloped. Our roads will never support this growth. About 45 plus years ago a bypass was proposed around Charlottesville. Year after year passed and it was never forced as imminent domain yet now you want to destroy quiet ? neighborhoods. Albemarle county taxes are high enough and should be enough to support ALL OF THE NEW NEIGHBORHOODS. Why keep building when the school systems are not developed to support new young families. Affordable housing is like homes that are $200,000. My home is worth more than double what I paid for it. This is not affordable housing. Let everyone have the ability to live the American Dream.

    1. Until you are willing to accept responsibility for what your Tract Housing destroyed you are just another complainer that does not want anything built that is different from what you want. I would rather have 3 Trailer Parks instead of one tract housing area… I hope that this zoning change is approved. We need some normal people to move to this area…

Something to say?
