TABOR STREET DETOUR CONFIRMED FOR MONDAY, MARCH 17TH
Detour signals major milestone in the Crozet Streetscape Project
The closure of Tabor Street is confirmed for Monday, March 17th. As previously advertised, the closure will occur between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday for approximately two weeks. Signage has been in place since Monday, March 10, notifying motorists of the closure.
Motorists are reminded that the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has determined that the only viable detour route is via High Street, through the lumber yard, and connected to the newly constructed Library Avenue. A copy of that route is available here.
This Friday the contractor will begin placing detour signage and barrels along the detour route in preparation for the closure. Every effort will be made to discourage motorists from using The Square as a shortcut. We ask that all motorists follow the detour signs and use Library Avenue as posted. As per requirements from VDOT, the detour route improvements will be completed prior to the road closure, including all necessary grading.
Tabor Street will be closed to through traffic but access to private property will be maintained from High Street during the closure. Complete closure of the road will speed up the proposed Tabor Street improvements and will result in a safer construction work zone.
